Pokémon Sleep: Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3 Guide – Best Areas and How to Prepare

Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3 begins on Monday, October 5, 2026.

During the event, final Strength gains from dishes will be multiplied by 1.25, your cooking pot will be twice as large, and Pokémon with an Ingredients specialty will gather one extra ingredient whenever they gather ingredients through regular helping.

The new Pokémon Foongus and Amoonguss will also make their Pokémon Sleep debuts during the event.

In this guide, we’ll go over the event bonuses, how to prepare before the event starts, which Pokémon are worth catching, and how to choose the best research area for your goals.

Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3 Event Period

Event Period: Monday, October 5, 2026, at 4:00 a.m. to Monday, October 12, 2026, at 3:59 a.m.

The event will take place in all areas.

Throughout the event, Pokémon with an Ingredients specialty will receive a useful bonus, while dishes will provide more Strength than usual.

Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3 Bonuses

The following bonuses will be active during the event.

BonusEffect
Cooking pot2× capacity (4× on Sunday)
Final Strength gains from dishes×1.25
Extra Tasty dishes×2.5
Extra Tasty dishes on Sunday×3.75
Energy restored by dishes+5
Ingredients specialty Pokémon+1 ingredient whenever they gather ingredients through regular helping
Main SkillsNumber of ingredients gathered ×1.5
Mini Candy BoostAvailable
Sleep ResearchPokémon of different sleep types may appear regardless of your sleep type
Event PokémonCertain Pokémon will be more likely to appear

The event doesn’t just increase the Strength gained from cooking. It also makes it easier to gather the large amount of ingredients needed to take advantage of the expanded cooking pot.

In particular, Pokémon with an Ingredients specialty will gather one additional ingredient whenever they gather ingredients through regular helping, making them especially useful throughout the week.

More Main Skills Benefit Compared to the Previous Event

During Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 2, the ×1.5 bonus specifically applied to Ingredient Magnet S and Ingredient Draw S.

In Part 3, the bonus has been changed so that the number of ingredients gathered by Main Skills is multiplied by 1.5.

If a Main Skill has multiple effects, only the number of ingredients gathered receives this bonus.

This means Pokémon that can supply ingredients through Main Skills have more opportunities to benefit from the event than they did in Part 2.

Stock Up on Ingredients Before the Event

One of the best things you can do before the event starts is build up a reasonable stock of ingredients.

Since cooking pot capacity will be doubled during the event, you’ll be able to use far more ingredients than usual.

However, I generally don’t recommend stocking up exclusively for one specific dish before the event begins.

You won’t know whether you’ll get Curries and Stews, Salads, or Desserts and Drinks until you move to your research area for the week.

If you stockpile ingredients for only one category and get a different one, much of your preparation may be difficult to use effectively.

Prepare for Two Dish Categories Instead of One

Rather than trying to prepare perfectly for all three categories, I recommend focusing on ingredients that are useful across two different dish categories.

For example, you could prepare ingredients commonly used in both Salads and Desserts and Drinks. If you get either category, you’ll have a useful stockpile ready from the start.

You’ll also have the Ingredients specialty bonus and the ×1.5 Main Skill ingredient bonus during the event, so you can collect missing ingredients after the week begins.

There are exceptions, however. If you have a specific goal—such as reaching Master 20 during the event—it can make sense to decide which high-Strength dishes you want to make and prepare large quantities of the required ingredients beforehand.

Pokémon Worth Catching During the Event

The following Pokémon will receive event appearance bonuses.

Medium Boost

  • Foongus
  • Amoonguss

Slight Boost

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Farfetch’d
  • Gastly
  • Pinsir
  • Ditto
  • Dratini
  • Wooper
  • Delibird
  • Mawile
  • Aron
  • Happiny
  • Spiritomb
  • Croagunk
  • Cutiefly
  • Cramorant
  • Sprigatito
  • Fuecoco
  • Cetoddle

With this many Pokémon receiving appearance bonuses, there’s no need to try to catch everything.

Personally, I would prioritize Pokémon that can gather ingredients that are difficult to replace and are still commonly used in strong dishes.

Using those criteria, these are some of the Pokémon I’d pay particular attention to:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Squirtle
  • Dratini
  • Happiny
  • Sprigatito

If you haven’t finished looking for a good one yet, this event is a good opportunity to make progress.

However, Foongus and Amoonguss are also making their debut during this event.

Rather than choosing an area solely to catch one of the existing Pokémon above, I recommend looking for an area where you can hunt Foongus and Amoonguss while also working on another Ingredients specialist you still need.

Foongus and Amoonguss Make Their Pokémon Sleep Debut

Foongus and Amoonguss will begin appearing from October 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

Both are Poison-type Pokémon and can appear in the following areas:

  • Greengrass Isle
  • Lapis Lakeside
  • Amber Canyon
  • Greengrass Isle (Expert)
  • Cyan Beach (Expert)

Foongus and Amoonguss will receive a medium appearance boost during Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3, making this an excellent opportunity to encounter them.

Will Foongus Gather Tasty Mushrooms?

Before the event begins, we don’t yet know Foongus and Amoonguss’s full stats, specialty, or ingredient lists.

The following is my personal prediction rather than confirmed information, but considering that Foongus and Amoonguss are mushroom Pokémon, I think there’s a good chance that they will gather Tasty Mushrooms.

We’ve seen other cases where a Pokémon’s design or characteristics match the ingredients it gathers—for example, Cutiefly gathering Honey.

If Foongus and Amoonguss turn out to be Ingredients specialists that can reliably gather Tasty Mushrooms, players who still need a dedicated mushroom gatherer may be able to lower the priority of hunting Spiritomb or Wooper.

This is only a prediction for now, so it’s worth waiting for their full details before making a final decision.

Choose Your Area Based on What Else You Want to Catch

The boosted Pokémon differ depending on the research area.

Instead of looking for one universally “best” area, I recommend choosing based on which Pokémon you want to catch alongside Foongus and Amoonguss.

Looking only at areas where Foongus and Amoonguss can appear:

AreaNotable Boosted Pokémon You Can Also Target
Greengrass IsleBulbasaur, Squirtle, Happiny, Sprigatito, and others
Lapis LakesideBulbasaur, Dratini, Sprigatito, and others
Amber CanyonHappiny, Spiritomb, and others
Greengrass Isle (Expert)Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Happiny, Sprigatito, and others
Cyan Beach (Expert)Squirtle, Dratini, Happiny, and others

Lapis Lakeside is particularly interesting because you can hunt Foongus and Amoonguss while also benefiting from boosted appearances for Bulbasaur, Dratini, and Sprigatito.

If you still need good versions of those Pokémon, Lapis Lakeside lets you work toward several goals at the same time.

Likewise, you can choose another area based on what your own team is missing rather than simply going to the area with the largest number of boosted Pokémon.

Cyan Beach (Expert) Is an Option if Foongus Is Your Top Priority

According to the official announcement, Foongus and Amoonguss will be easier to encounter at Cyan Beach (Expert) than in the other areas where they normally appear.

That makes Cyan Beach (Expert) an attractive option if catching and evaluating Foongus is your main goal.

However, Cyan Beach (Expert) is currently a very difficult area, so there’s an important trade-off to consider.

The following is based on my experience playing Pokémon Sleep for nearly three years rather than confirmed data for Foongus.

Even if you can’t earn very high Strength at Cyan Beach (Expert), the smaller pool of Pokémon and sleep styles available at lower Strength levels may actually work in your favor if your only goal is repeatedly encountering the unevolved Foongus.

The situation may be different if you also want to complete Foongus and Amoonguss entries in your Sleep Style Dex.

If you can’t reach the higher Strength requirements needed to unlock their later sleep styles, you may struggle to make progress on the Sleep Style Dex even while their appearance rates are boosted.

When choosing Cyan Beach (Expert), consider whether your priority is catching Foongus for evaluation and selection, collecting its sleep styles, or both—and how much Strength you can realistically earn there.

Mini Candy Boost Will Also Be Available

Mini Candy Boost will be available throughout the event.

When Mini Candy Boost is enabled, the EXP gained from using Candies is doubled, but the amount of Dream Shards required per Candy is multiplied by four.

You can use the boost on up to 50 Candies per day.

It’s a useful opportunity to level Pokémon you already plan to raise, but the Dream Shard cost is significant.

Mini Candy Boost will be enabled by default during the event, so remember to turn it off if you want to conserve Dream Shards.

What to Do During Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3

Packed Portions Cooking Week Part 3 boosts both cooking Strength and ingredient gathering, making Ingredients specialists particularly valuable throughout the week.

Before the event, try to stock up on ingredients that can be used across multiple dish categories instead of committing too heavily to a single recipe.

For Sleep Research, consider targeting Foongus and Amoonguss while choosing an area that also lets you hunt Ingredients specialists your team still needs.

Foongus and Amoonguss’s full details will become available after their debut, so this guide will be updated once their specialty, ingredients, Main Skill, and other relevant information are confirmed.
