Misdreavus and Mismagius are coming to Pokémon Sleep on October 26, 2026.
The most interesting part of their debut is their new main skill, Mystical Fire (Cooking Advance S).
This skill increases your cooking pot capacity for the next meal while also raising the chance of making an Extra Tasty dish.
Personally, I expect Mystical Fire to be stronger than the existing Cooking Power-Up S skill.
However, whether Mismagius is worth raising is a different question, especially if you’ve already invested in a strong Glaceon or Magnezone.
In this article, I’ll examine the information officially revealed so far, predict how Mystical Fire might work, and discuss whether Mismagius will actually be worth hunting and raising.
Note: This article was written on October 14, 2026, before Mismagius was released. Some details, including skill values and performance, are predictions rather than confirmed information.

What Does Mystical Fire (Cooking Advance S) Do?
According to the official announcement, Mystical Fire has two effects:
- Increases cooking pot capacity for the next meal.
- Slightly increases the chance of making an Extra Tasty dish.
The Extra Tasty chance bonus resets when you make an Extra Tasty dish or move to another research area.
Here’s how it compares with existing cooking-related main skills.
| Main Skill | Effect |
|---|---|
| Cooking Power-Up S | Increases cooking pot capacity for the next meal |
| Tasty Chance S | Increases the chance of making an Extra Tasty dish |
| Mystical Fire (Cooking Advance S) | Increases cooking pot capacity and raises Extra Tasty chance |
Mystical Fire’s biggest advantage is that it combines two useful effects in a single main skill.
However, the exact increases at each skill level have not been announced.
Let’s look at what we might expect based on existing main skills.
Predicting Mystical Fire’s Performance
I Expect the Same Pot Capacity Increase as Cooking Power-Up S
My prediction is that Mystical Fire will increase cooking pot capacity by approximately the same amount as Cooking Power-Up S, which is used by Pokémon such as Glaceon and Flareon.
The difference would be the additional Extra Tasty chance bonus.
One reason I think this is possible is Mismagius’s potential hunting difficulty.
Misdreavus’s friendship point requirement has not been announced yet, but I expect it to require 16 friendship points.
This prediction is based on Pokémon such as Murkrow, Onix, and Sneasel, which require 16 friendship points.
If Misdreavus follows the same pattern, catching multiple individuals to find a strong one will be considerably more expensive than hunting Eevee or Magnemite, which require only 5 friendship points.
Of course, Glaceon, Flareon, and Magnezone also require evolution items.
Glaceon evolves from Eevee using an Ice Stone, Flareon uses a Fire Stone, and Magneton evolves into Magnezone using a Thunder Stone.
Therefore, I don’t consider evolution items themselves to be a major disadvantage unique to Mismagius.
The more important difference is the potential friendship point requirement.
If Misdreavus requires 16 friendship points, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mismagius receives a stronger main skill to compensate for its higher hunting difficulty.
My prediction is that Mystical Fire will retain the same pot capacity increase as Cooking Power-Up S while adding a smaller Extra Tasty chance bonus.
Of course, a higher friendship point requirement doesn’t guarantee better performance.
Mismagius might also have a lower main skill trigger rate than existing cooking pot specialists.
We’ll need to compare its actual performance after release.
I Predict a Maximum Extra Tasty Bonus of +5%
My second prediction concerns how much Mystical Fire will increase Extra Tasty chance.
I expect it to follow a similar pattern to Heracross’s Bulk Up (Cooking Assist S), potentially reaching a maximum bonus of +5%.
Bulk Up provides random ingredients while also increasing the chance of making an Extra Tasty dish.
Its effects at each skill level are as follows.
| Skill Level | Ingredients Obtained | Extra Tasty Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Lv. 1 | 6 | +1% |
| Lv. 2 | 8 | +2% |
| Lv. 3 | 11 | +2% |
| Lv. 4 | 14 | +3% |
| Lv. 5 | 17 | +3% |
| Lv. 6 | 21 | +4% |
| Lv. 7 | 24 | +5% |
Source: Bulk Up (Cooking Assist S) – PokéSleep Super Wiki
At Lv. 6, Bulk Up provides 21 random ingredients and increases Extra Tasty chance by 4%.
At Lv. 7, the ingredient count increases to 24, while the Extra Tasty bonus rises to 5%.
Since Mystical Fire is also a skill that combines two cooking-related effects, I think a similar level progression is possible.
For example, Mystical Fire might provide the same cooking pot increase as Cooking Power-Up S, alongside an Extra Tasty bonus that reaches +5% at a high skill level.
If that prediction is correct, Mystical Fire could be a particularly attractive alternative to Cooking Power-Up S.
However, this is only a prediction.
Increasing cooking pot capacity is already a powerful effect, so the developers might balance the skill by giving it a smaller Extra Tasty bonus.
The exact values will need to be confirmed after release.
Will Mismagius Be Stronger Than Existing Cooking Pot Specialists?
Let’s assume Mystical Fire increases cooking pot capacity by the same amount as Cooking Power-Up S while also providing an Extra Tasty chance bonus.
Under those conditions, Mystical Fire would be stronger than Cooking Power-Up S when comparing the effects of a single activation.
However, that doesn’t automatically mean Mismagius will perform better than Glaceon or Magnezone.
The number of main skill activations matters just as much as the effect itself.
For example, imagine that you need two cooking pot expansions before your next meal to prepare a particular high-level recipe.
If Glaceon can reliably trigger its skill twice before mealtime, but Mismagius often fails to do so, the additional Extra Tasty chance may not compensate for that inconsistency.
The primary purpose of a cooking pot specialist is to provide enough capacity for the recipe you want to make.
Being able to achieve that consistently is more important than having an additional bonus on paper.
On the other hand, if Mismagius can activate its skill just as frequently as Glaceon, its extra effect would make it much more attractive.
That’s why Mismagius’s base helping time and main skill trigger rate will be essential when comparing these Pokémon after release.
Is Mismagius Worth Hunting and Raising?
A Promising Option If You Don’t Have a Cooking Pot Specialist
If you haven’t raised Glaceon, Flareon, or Magnezone yet, Mismagius could become an excellent option.
The ability to increase cooking pot capacity while also improving Extra Tasty chance is particularly appealing.
I think this would be especially useful for players who don’t regularly use a Good Camp Ticket.
Without the ticket’s cooking pot capacity bonus, you may need a cooking pot specialist to prepare certain high-level recipes.
If Mismagius can perform that role while offering an additional Extra Tasty bonus, it could be a very efficient team member.
However, I wouldn’t recommend prioritizing Mismagius before its full performance is known.
Even if the skill effects match my predictions, its value will depend on how frequently the skill activates.
If you already have a promising Eevee or Magnemite, waiting for Mismagius’s actual performance before investing resources is a reasonable approach.
You Probably Don’t Need to Replace an Already Strong Glaceon
Personally, I’ve already raised strong cooking pot specialists, including Glaceon.
Because of that, even if Mystical Fire performs exactly as I predict, I don’t plan to rush into replacing them with Mismagius.
The reason is simple: my current Pokémon already do what I need them to do.
Let’s say I need two cooking pot expansions before a meal to prepare a particular recipe.
If my Glaceon can reliably provide those two activations, switching to Mismagius wouldn’t necessarily change which dish I can prepare.
Of course, gaining additional Extra Tasty chance would be useful.
But is that improvement worth hunting another Pokémon, raising it from scratch, and potentially spending several Main Skill Seeds?
I’m not convinced it would be.
The investment becomes even harder to justify if Mismagius turns out to have a lower skill trigger frequency than Glaceon.
In that case, switching might make it less reliable to reach the cooking pot capacity I need.
I would prioritize consistently preparing my target recipes over gaining a small additional Extra Tasty chance.
For players who already have excellent cooking pot specialists, Mismagius may be an upgrade rather than a necessary replacement.
Good Camp Ticket Users May Have Less Reason to Raise Mismagius
Mismagius’s value will also depend on whether you regularly use a Good Camp Ticket.
A Good Camp Ticket increases cooking pot capacity, meaning you may already have enough space to prepare your preferred recipes without using Cooking Power-Up S.
In that situation, a dedicated cooking pot specialist becomes less necessary.
If your main goal is increasing Extra Tasty chance, using a Pokémon such as Dedenne with Tasty Chance S may be more efficient.
On the other hand, players who don’t use Good Camp Tickets may regularly need additional pot capacity.
For example, suppose you want to prepare a high-level dish such as Flower Gift Macarons, but your normal cooking pot is too small.
Without additional capacity, you might have to settle for a different recipe.
A cooking pot specialist can solve that problem, potentially allowing you to earn more Strength from your meals.
In that situation, Mismagius could be especially attractive because it would also increase Extra Tasty chance.
However, even Good Camp Ticket users may occasionally need more capacity than the ticket provides.
So the deciding factor isn’t simply whether you spend money on Good Camp Tickets.
What matters is whether you actually need additional cooking pot capacity for the recipes you want to make.
A Stronger Main Skill Doesn’t Automatically Make Mismagius a Must-Have
I’m genuinely interested in Mystical Fire, and I think it has the potential to become stronger than the existing Cooking Power-Up S skill.
If it provides the same pot capacity increase alongside an additional Extra Tasty chance bonus, it would offer more value per activation.
But in Pokémon Sleep, having a stronger main skill doesn’t necessarily mean a Pokémon is worth raising.
A cooking pot specialist has a specific purpose: providing enough capacity to prepare your target recipes.
Once your current Pokémon can reliably fulfill that purpose, the value of replacing it becomes less clear.
Even if Mismagius provides some additional Extra Tasty chance, you still need to consider the cost of hunting, training, evolution, and Main Skill Seeds.
For players without a cooking pot specialist, Mismagius could be an excellent first choice.
For players who already have a strong Glaceon or Magnezone, it may be better to continue using what they have.
I’ll Decide Mismagius’s Selection Criteria After Release
I’m intentionally not recommending specific natures or sub skills for Mismagius yet.
Several important details remain unknown, including its specialty, base helping time, and main skill trigger rate.
Without those details, it’s too early to decide which combination of sub skills would be ideal.
Even if Mismagius turns out to be a Skills specialist, that doesn’t necessarily mean it should be evaluated using exactly the same criteria as Glaceon or Magnezone.
Its skill level scaling could also affect how much investment is worthwhile.
Once Mismagius is released on October 26, I’ll evaluate its actual performance and compare it with existing cooking pot specialists before establishing my selection criteria.
Final Thoughts: Mismagius Looks Promising, but Replacing Your Current Pokémon May Not Be Necessary
Mismagius’s new main skill, Mystical Fire (Cooking Advance S), combines cooking pot expansion with an increase in Extra Tasty chance.
My current prediction is that its cooking pot increase will match Cooking Power-Up S, while its Extra Tasty bonus could reach approximately +5%, similar to Heracross’s Bulk Up.
If those predictions turn out to be correct, Mystical Fire could be more powerful than the existing cooking pot expansion skill.
However, that doesn’t mean everyone should replace their current cooking pot specialists.
If you’re raising your first cooking pot specialist, Mismagius could be a very promising choice. If you already have an excellent Glaceon or Magnezone, I recommend waiting for its actual performance before deciding whether to switch.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how Mystical Fire performs, but I plan to evaluate Mismagius carefully before investing resources.
